Preparation:Thorough substrate preparation is essential.
Prior to application of Flortex® Chemical Coat, the surface should be primed with Polycote EP Primer or WD Primer, depending on the type of substrate. Please contact Polycote Technical Helpline and prepare the surface in accordance with the appropriate primer Data Sheet.
Should the time lapse between priming and top coat exceed 48 hours, abrade the primer to ensure intercoat adhesion.
Mixing:
Having fully prepared the substrate, stir the individual components before mixing together. Add Part ‘B’ to Part ‘A’ and thoroughly mix for at least 3 minutes. For best results use a heavy duty slow speed drill with a mixing paddle.
Ensure thorough mixing as an unmixed product will result in a poor or non-cure situation.
Application:
Apply by brush, roller or squeegee, making sure that the surface is completely covered. Particular attention should be given to doorways and other areas of high traffic. When finished, DO NOT scrape the remaining contents from the container as this will invariably include unmixed resin.
Two coats are recommended in areas of high chemical aggression.
The ambient temperature of the areas should not fall below 10oC throughout the application and curing period.
